Michael was a warm, humble and immeasurably charming man who epitomised the sacrifice and dedication of his generation through his war-time RAF service and afterwards in his commitment to education, remembrance and to the local community. It was an absolute privilege to have known him, and inspiring to see the warmth and friendship that his generosity of spirit fostered in all that he met. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
